NORMAN, Okla. -- Ryan Spanglers intense play has fueled Oklahomas growth this season. The sophomore forward had 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to help the 23rd-ranked Sooners defeat No. 8 Oklahoma State 88-76 on Monday night. Spangler, in his first season playing for Oklahoma after transferring from Gonzaga, has displayed an energy level that has helped change the Sooners from a team that could just score a lot of points into one that held Oklahoma State to 40 per cent shooting. "Ryans kind of been the cornerstone for our growth in the toughness area," Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. "I think were getting tougher. I think weve made big strides in that area." It was the first time both teams have entered a "Bedlam" rivalry game ranked since 2005. The Sooners got great efforts from a few unexpected sources. Freshman Jordan Woodard scored 17 of his 18 points in the second half and reserve Tyler Neal added a season-high 15 points for the Sooners (17-4, 6-2 Big 12), who won their fourth straight game and claimed their third win over a ranked conference opponent this season. Woodard averaged just 11 points a game and Neal averaged 5.9 coming into the game. "Thats kind of been the trademark of this team all year long -- different guys, different nights, stepping up and giving us great support," Kruger said. "We beat a great Oklahoma State team. That makes it even more satisfying." Oklahoma shot 46 per cent from the field and made 8 of 17 3-pointers. The Cowboys committed 29 fouls and were outscored 30-15 at the free throw line. Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford said the poor defence and the foul trouble were related. "We didnt defend very much," he said. "When you dont defend, you put yourself in position to foul. Give them credit. They beat us off the dribble. Fouling is usually a product of being out of position." Oklahoma State guard Phil Forte said the team has to handle situations like Mondays better. "We need to quit worrying about the refs and all that and just play," he said. "Move onto the next play. Thats the most important thing." Marcus Smart had 22 points on 6-of-18 shooting and spent much of the game in foul trouble. Forte scored 20 points and made all six of his 3-point tries and Markel Brown added 18 points for the Cowboys (16-4, 4-3). OSUs LeBryan Nash, who scored a career-high 29 points against West Virginia on Saturday, fouled out with eight points in 17 minutes. Oklahoma dominated early as Oklahoma States Smart, Nash and Stevie Clark all committed two fouls in the first 12 minutes. Forte gave the Cowboys some life with two deep 3-pointers in a run that trimmed Oklahomas lead to 32-26. The Sooners extended it to 46-36 on a 3-pointer by Neal with 46 seconds left in the first half, and the Sooners led 46-38 at the break. Neal scored 10 in the first half. Smart played just 6 minutes in the first half and had six points on 2-for-4 shooting. Woodard drained a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to push Oklahomas lead to 53-41, and he later hit a 3-pointer to bump OUs lead to 13. A 3 by Frank Booker increased the Sooners lead to 16 points, then Nash committed his fourth foul with 14:17 remaining, and Clark fouled out with 12:18 to go. A 3-pointer by Smart and a dunk by Brown cut OUs lead to 64-57. Spangler scored on a putback, was fouled by Smart and made the free throw to put the Sooners up 75-62 with just over 6 minutes to play. Oklahoma State cut Oklahomas lead to six, but Woodards 3-pointer with just under 3 minutes left bumped the Sooners lead to 10. "Give them credit," Ford said. "Every time we would make a semi-run at them, they would make a big shot and we would make a silly play." The rematch is Feb. 15 at Oklahoma State. "Theyre a great team," Neal said. "Theyre going to do some good things this year, and were going to have to be ready when we play them in Stillwater." Torrey Smith Jersey . The St. Louis Cardinals were scheduled to arrive in Boston in time for a workout on Tuesday afternoon. Much of Mondays discussion focused on Bostons lineup considerations as the series progresses, specifically when the venue shifts to St. Chris Long Jersey . 31-Feb. 2. While organizers havent decided if itll be red or green clay, they feel their choice of surface will give the Americans an advantage over Britain, which is expected to be led by defending Wimbledon champion Andy Murray. Timmy Jernigan Jersey .com) - Rick Nash scored twice and Derek Stepan chipped in a goal with one assist as the New York Rangers claimed a 5-2 decision over Calgary at the Saddledome.GLENDALE, Ariz. - The way they are playing, the Seattle Seahawks could well be back in Arizona in a month or so.The Super Bowl will be played in the same stadium where the Seahawks dominated the Cardinals 35-6 on Sunday night.I had a freaking blast tonight, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said.Seattle won its fifth in a row with a record-breaking offensive performance and a stifling defensive effort. Our offensive line did a great job and it gave me time to make the throws and make the plays. Guys caught the ball extremely well tonight. They kept playing football for me, quarterback Russell Wilson said. The effort was so high and then you think about the defence. The defence was lights out and the plays they were able to make, the short field they were able to give us, it was a complete team effort.Wilson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and Marshawn Lynch ran for two scores, one of them a tackle-breaking 79-yard run that helped turn the game into a blowout in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks amassed a franchise record 596 yards. We have been playing so well all year and to have that performance tonight, its embarrassing, Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson said. The victory moved Seattle (11-4) into a tie with Arizona (11-4) atop the NFC West, with the Seahawks holding the tiebreaker because they beat the Cardinals twice. If Seattle wins at home against St. Louis next weekend, the Seahawks will clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC and play at home throughout the playoffs — until that Super Bowl trip to Arizona. The attitude that were playing with, it gives us a chance to really have high hopes going into that last game, Carroll said. The Cardinals still have hopes for the division title, but the Seahawks would have to lose to the Rams while Arizona won at San Francisco. We need a little help but were in there, Cardinals linebacker Larry Foote said. Here are things to note in Seattles one-sided victory in Arizona:WILSON TO WILLSON: Both of Wilsons touchdown passes went to tight end Luke Willson. The first was a gorgeous long one into Willsons fingertips in an 80-yard play that matched the longest of Wilsons career.Im a tight end, but I always take a lot of pride when Im in the open field not getting caught, Willson said. One of those guys kindd of got to my ankles there, that wouldve been a little embarrassing.dddddddddddd. I was pretty happy with the way it ended up.Wilson also had a 55-yard run that was the longest of his career.LYNCH THE SHOWMAN: Marshawn Lynch had a remarkable 79-yard touchdown run that featured him running over a couple of would-be tacklers and breaking away from a couple of others. If you love football, its got to be one of the best runs of all time, Wilson said. Hes had one before I believe, in Seahawks history, so to watch that one was pretty cool. When he made it to the end zone, Lynch spun around in mid-air and briefly grabbed his crotch. The display didnt bother veteran Arizona linebacker Larry Foote. They can do whatever they want when theyre winning, Foote said. Its our job to stop them from getting in the end zone. He did a good job of getting in there.Of course, Lynch wasnt saying much of anything. When asked about the run, he said, Thanks for asking. He said the same thing to every other question.Lynch sat out the first quarter with an upset stomach.WHAT Defence?: The Cardinals had counted on their defence to keep this a low-scoring game, but the Seahawks ripped off big play after big play. The 591 yards were the most Arizona has allowed this season. The 29-point difference was the largest in Arians two seasons in Arizona.Thats humbling especially how well we played them the first time up in their place, To do that in prime time, that is not good.LINDLEYS STRUGGLES: With starter Carson Palmer out for the season and backup Drew Stanton sidelined with a sprained knee, the Cardinals turned to Ryan Lindley, who struggled mightily against the leagues No. 1-ranked defence.I think there were certain things that we did that we didnt take full advantage of what we thought we could schematically do against them. Thats a lot on me, Lindley said.Lindley completed 18 of 44 passes for 216 yards with one interception. He already held the NFL record for most passes without a touchdown. Now that number has grown to 225.LOSING AT HOME: The Cardinals lost at home for the first time in eight games this season. They are 13-3 at home since Arians became coach. Two of those losses were to Seattle.___=AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
