SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Colin Kaepernick was at his worst on the prime-time Thanksgiving stage, and Richard Sherman quickly became the Niners biggest nemesis again. He literally dared the quarterback to throw his way — I told their sideline if they threw it my way Id end the game, Sherman said.Kaepernick did just that as San Francisco fell flat on offence, its owner publicly apologized for a game that wasnt acceptable, and the teams playoff hopes took a huge hit Thursday with a 19-3 loss to Sherman and the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks. We only had three points. We have to start early and we have to play, wide receiver Michael Crabtree said. Thats all we have to talk about.Sherman set up the only touchdown with another key defensive play in this heated rivalry, then made a second interception with the 49ers driving late, as the Seahawks ended a five-game losing streak on San Franciscos home field. In the waning moments with thousands of red seats already empty, 49ers CEO Jed York posted on Twitter: Thank you (hashtag)49ersfaithful for coming out strong tonight. This performance wasnt acceptable. I apologize for that.Kaepernick, whose team has reached three straight NFC title games, couldnt argue. Its not acceptable, he said. We didnt perform well. We have a much higher standard for ourselves. ... We have to win out in order to have a shot to get into the playoffs. The 49ers were held to three points or fewer for the first time since a 29-3 Week 2 loss at Seattle last year. And they still must face the Seahawks in 17 days at CenturyLink Field, where Shermans touchdown-saving deflection of a pass headed to Crabtree 10 months earlier sealed the NFC championship game in the final minute. This looked awfully familiar. The target on both Sherman interceptions was Crabtree. The second one was pretty entertaining. I was laughing the whole time, Sherman said. They threw it. I said, Way to be, way to be.The brash cornerback offered plenty without opening his mouth, too: Blowing kisses to the crowd, then putting a finger to his lips to make the hush sign before waving goodbye.Steven Hauschka kicked four field goals and the Seahawks stout defence helped Seattle (8-4) overcome 14 penalties for 105 yards, including an offensive pass interference that negated a touchdown.Russell Wilson passed for 236 yards and thoroughly outplayed Kaepernick, who had one of his worst performances for the 49ers (7-5) in a game with high stakes for both NFC powers just trying to get to the playoffs.Kaepernick had the second-lowest passer rating of his career at 36.7, with his only lower rating a 20.1 in a 29-3 Week 2 loss at Seattle last year. Kaepernick was 16 for 29 for 121 yards and the 49ers were outgained 379-164.After his second pick, Sherman looked at those fans still remaining in half-empty stadium on a Thanksgiving night and waved. Sherman and Crabtree were at the centre of the decisive play in Januarys NFC title game, when Sherman deflected a pass headed his way in the end zone and Malcolm Smith intercepted it with less than a minute remaining to seal the Seahawks 23-17 victory. Sherman later called Crabtree mediocre.San Franciscos offence might have earned that distinction after its latest dud snapped the Niners three-game winning streak.Things just arent happening for us out there. I dont know what it is, wideout Anquan Boldin said.Even general manager Trent Baalkes daughter, Cassie, apparently got into the Twitter discussion about the teams struggles, calling out offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman. The tweet was quickly removed.Greg Roman can take a hike..the 49ers dont want you no more, the tweet said. When the word mediocre came up, Sherman said that distinction wen to their fans for vulgar name-calling throughout the game. You never have to resort to name-calling, said Sherman, who said a bottle was thrown as the Seahawks exited.Asked about Crabtree on Thursday, Sherman smiled and quipped: History? What history? He said he was throwing to the open man. He didnt care who was out there, Sherman said of Kaepernick. I was the open man.Phil Dawson provided San Franciscos lone points on a 40-yard field goal late in the third.Regarding Yorks comments, Harbaugh didnt address it.Weve got to reboot, come back and win them all, he said.NOTES: Wilson had a 118.8 passer rating. ... Crabtree hurt his left knee 56 seconds into the game after landing awkwardly on his left side following a 5-yard reception on which he was tackled by S Kam Chancellor. ... 49ers DT Ray McDonald injured a finger. ... In a lighthearted moment before kickoff, Harbaughs black hat blew off during the national anthem and landed on the lowest white stripe of a flag that covered the entire field. A San Francisco staffer quickly retrieved the cap just in time as the flag was being rolled up after The Star-Spangled Banner.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL Jake Bischoff Jersey .Brady threw a 69-yard touchdown pass to Julian Edelman midway through the fourth quarter, and New England beat the San Diego Chargers 23-14 for its eighth win in nine games. Shea Theodore Jersey . Maximilian Arnold put Wolfsburg ahead in the eighth minute, when the stationary Fallou Diagne allowed him to guide Patrick Ochs cross beyond the helpless Freiburg goalkeeper, and Ivica Olic doubled the lead three minutes later after Luiz Gustavo did well to set him up. http://www.goldenknightsnhlshop.com/gri ... ersey-c-7/. With one penalty, Fourcade finished in 24 minutes, 58.2 seconds, just nine-tenths of a second ahead of Timofey Lapshin, who shot clean in the cold. Alex Tuch Jersey . The visitors missed a host of good chances to win the game, and were left to rue substitute Ivo Ilicevics strike against the crossbar in the 86th minute, when he only had the goalkeeper to beat. Jon Merrill Jersey . Globo TV and other news outlets said early Monday that Scolari will not remain as coach after the national teams failure to win the World Cup at home.NASHVILLE -- With a year-long federal fraud investigation looming over it, the huge truck-stop chain owned by the family of the Cleveland Browns owner and Tennessees governor is doing some housecleaning at its highest levels. Several top executives at Pilot Flying J, including the president, abruptly left this week, more than a year after FBI agents raided the Knoxville, Tennessee, headquarters of the nations largest diesel retailer. Ten former employees have previously pleaded guilty to helping cheat trucking companies out of promised rebates and discounts. Those cases and this weeks departures, observers note, could indicate that prosecutors are entering the final phase of a methodical probe that has included records suggesting Pilot CEO and Browns owner Jimmy Haslam knew of the scheme, something he denies. One expert said Haslam might be cutting ties with his senior staff in a bid to persuade prosecutors not to charge the company his father founded decades ago, one in which his brother, Gov. Bill Haslam, still holds an undisclosed stake. Pilot President Mark Hazelwood and Scott "Scooter" Wombold, vice-president of national accounts, left the company Monday, with Haslam sending a company-wide email thanking Hazelwood for his service but saying nothing about why or how he was leaving. Tuesday saw the departure of five more members of the sales team. Dennis B. Francis, a Knoxville attorney who has worked in federal criminal defence for 40 years, said the only way this weeks departures make sense to him is if some of the people leaving are co-operating with prosecutors. For a defendant to get a lighter sentence than federal guidelines mandate, prosecutors have to file court papers saying that person provided substantial assistance to the government. Once prosecutors have the evidence they need to convict, they no longer offer any promises of special consideration. "They call it getting on the bus," said Francis, who is not involved in the Pilot case. "And theres only so much room on the bus." Wombolds attorney, John E. Kelly, said in an email that his client had been "helping the company repair many customer relationships during the past 14 months. Mr. Wombolds departure from the company is not connected to past guilty pleas entered into by former employees, and any inferencce that there is a connection is not accurate.dddddddddddd" Hazelwoods attorney declined to comment. Company representatives said they couldnt comment on specific personnel moves, which took place while Jimmy Haslam was meeting with fellow NFL owners in Atlanta. "Nothing more should be read into the events of this week than things playing themselves out," spokesman Tom Ingram said Wednesday. "Otherwise, the company continues to go full steam ahead and business as usual, and is doing very well." Jimmy Haslam has denied any previous knowledge of the fraud or any personal wrongdoing. The governor has said he is not involved with operating Pilot Flying J. Pilot agreed in November to pay out nearly $85 million to settle claims in a class-action lawsuit with 5,500 trucking companies. Several companies have filed separate lawsuits against Pilot that are ongoing. Nashville criminal defence attorney and former prosecutor David Raybin said that, based on his observations and experience, the departure of so many managers at once indicates that criminal charges could soon be filed. And he suggested that prosecutors are aiming high. "You dont make a bunch of people plead guilty at the lower levels and then let the top people off with a fine," said Raybin, who does not represent anyone in the case. "Theyre potentially jailing five to 10 people. You dont do that unless you are targeting the highest levels of the company." An affidavit filed last year to obtain a search warrant for Pilot headquarters states that a confidential informant told the FBI that both Hazelwood and Jimmy Haslam knew about the fraud at the company because it was discussed openly at sales meetings where both were present. Randall Eliason, a former federal prosecutor who teaches at George Washington University Law School, said that while the sudden departures are unusual, they could mean any number of things. For example, Pilot might be fearful that the company could be charged criminally, or the companys board of directors may have decided that the people who have left recently were partly responsible for what happened. "One reason the company might fire them is to say, Look, were cleaning house. Were getting rid of the bad people, so dont indict the corporation," Eliason said.
